Social aspect & lore

The civilisation on Maltketh is quite a simple construction, it consists of two "social classes".

The first and "lowest" in status being the normal working elf.
They do not have any special privligages, and obey the elven king currently ruiling the island.
The working elves are not to be looked over though, as they make up the majority of the islands population and has done much for it's development.

The other social class are called the high-elves.
That is the social class that represents the royal family and the other people that are part of the famous elven houses.
Other members are unofficialy the cult members of the cult "gath huineth"[House Sikilas]. All these people have privligaes in society such as getting fancier clothes and having access to the islands culture.

Yellow dots:
1. Lake liniel
Has no special funtion except for the fact that it is an transport way between the citys of Iseirus and Oroduin. Here you can fish for cirtain elven fish.
2&3. Lake Trifoliel and lake fulgeth
Small lakes were the working elves fish clams and prawns.
4&6. Mount kolinth & mount Elda
mount kolinth is the main place for mining Mithril, and mount elda is a lookout point over the island, located at the lower right corner of the map.
5. Lake Erea
a way of getting to the mining city of Ered, and a great defense mechanism for the city.

Red dots:
1.The capital of Iseirus
Home of a majority of the population and the place where the majority of events on Maltketh happen. Home of the royal family.
2.Lake town of Oroduin
On top of a cliff looking out over lake liniel.4th biggest city.
3. Dessert city of lise
This city is the most independent and the third biggest. Read more about it on the "places" tab.

6. Mining town of Ered
Second biggest city on the island, hub for the mining going on in the mountain right beside it.

History says that the island of Malteth originated when Lirima Sobernum was broken up right between Mount Melaro(a mountain in the mountain range Vuruth Oradoai) and a small part of the Lirima landmass (a hollow in the landmass that can be seen there on the map now) got thrown out into Awrnarath.

When that happened, ancient scrolls found on Maltketh says that the island was named Maltketh because it's a mashup of the world malta(meaning gold) and koreth(meaning ball). The island was called “thegoldball” because of the big amount of kath that grows there(a type of citrus fruit) this lights up the island, making it look like it is made of gold.

One thing that Maltketh is known for is it's culture.
Music, art and literature exists in a big way, but is quite exclusive to the high-elves. This is is reflected in the high-elves more "fancy" way of speaking,especially when it comes to culture related things.

You could say that the amount of literature in the language is quite large, since it’s spoken by the worlds entire population. The high elves are very highly educated here, so the amount of island specific literature and culture available for them is quite large.
