The religion:
The watchers of the sun

Tirsasaier fe gath teliner
How does it work?

The official religion of Maltketh is called the watchers of sun. It is called that because the elves pray to and watch the cycles of the sun(yes the sun changes shape here) and live by that. They also count their years in  sun years and have specific holidays dedicated to the different cycles of the sun.
One entire sun cycle marks one year in the maltkethan calendar, with every sun cycle lasting about 5 months, a year on the island is about 25 months. Read more about the calendar on the time ages page!

Background story
  • It is year 341 of the second age. The current ruling queen Faiel, lady of Maltketh walks the corridors of her castle in the city of Iseirus. She walks out on one of her balconies, and right then the sun changes cycle from "loth telin"(empty sun) to "quan telin"(full sun).

  • It looked like the sun had just appeared out of thin air. This competely spell bounds the queen, she was entierly sure that some higher power had made this happen.

  • After that, she founded the religion and built temples all across the island where the elves could pray to the diffrent cycles of the sun for different things.

  • This was welcomed by the elves, as they had been longing for a higher power to put their faith in.
